INDIANAPOLIS -- Indoor track and field action continues this weekend across the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), as all 12 conference programs prepare for their final competitions before the 2024 G-MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
 
G-MAC Programs in Action
 
Ashland, Ohio Dominican, Lake Erie, and Tiffin
Four G-MAC programs will compete at the Ashland Last Chance Meet, the final regular-season indoor event hosted at Ashland University. The facility will welcome all 12 G-MAC institutions next week for the conference championship. Ashland’s women’s team enters the weekend ranked inside the top 10 nationally in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index. Tiffin will also send select athletes to South Bend, Indiana, for the prestigious Alex Wilson Invitational.

  • Colton Thress (Jr., Ashland) 1:48.87 in the men’s 800 meters.
  • Peyton Proffitt (Sr. Ohio Dominican) 3.93 meters in the women’s pole vault.
  • Maggie Waldo (Sr., Lake Erie) 1.65 meters in the women’s high jump.
  • Ramon Rodriguez (Sr., Tiffin) 4:01.43 in the men’s mile.
 
Cedarville and Thomas More
Cedarville and Thomas More will close out their regular seasons at the Wittenberg Invitational. Cedarville’s women’s program enters the weekend with strong momentum after capturing the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championship on its home track last week.
Recent Highlights:
  • Kristian Satterfield (Fr., Cedarville) 6.95 in the men’s 60 meters.
  • Brandon Rogers (Jr., Cedarville) 21.84 in the men’s 200 meters.
  • Miranda Csordas (Jr., Thomas More) 2,080 points in the women’s pentathlon.
  • Michelle Holley (Fr., Thomas More) 1,606 points in the women’s pentathlon.
 
Findlay
 
Findlay will host the Flag City Open as the Oilers tune up for championship weekend. In their most recent competition, split between meets in Tiffin and Michigan, Findlay athletes set a school record and recorded three NCAA provisional qualifying marks.

  • Sherron Jones (Sr., Findlay) 21.53 in the men’s 200 meters.
  • Leah Smith (Jr., Findlay) 23.93 in the women’s 200 meters.
  • Katharina Rupp (Fr., Findlay) 55.17 in the women’s 400 meters.
  • Anna Heren (Jr., Findlay) 2:16.12 in the women’s 800 meters.
 
Northwood and Hillsdale
Northwood and Hillsdale will compete at the Silverston Invitational in Ann Arbor, Michigan, providing athletes with one final opportunity to improve qualifying marks ahead of the postseason. Northwood will also send competitors to the SVSU Tune-Up Invitational, while Hillsdale will host select athletes at the Hillsdale Indoor Tune-Up.

  • Will Haw (Jr., Northwood) 1:52.39 in the men’s 800 meters.
  • Chase Burston (Jr., Northwood) 49.21 in the men’s 400 meters.
  • Sofia Boonzaayer (Fr., Hillsdale) 14.61 meters in the women’s shot put.
  • Baelyn Zitzmann (So, Hillsdale) 1.67 meters in the women’s high jump.
 
Malone and Walsh
Malone and Walsh will travel to Akron, Ohio, for the Akron Invitational, while Malone will also send athletes to the Mount Union Raider Tune-Up in Alliance, Ohio. Malone’s men’s team enters the weekend following a strong showing at the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championship, where they claimed the national title.

  • Allea Graves (So., Malone) 55.81 in the women’s 400 meters.
  • Bella Graham (So., Walsh) 17:29.29 in the women’s 5000 meters.
  • Akyus Richardson (Fr., Walsh) 17.10 meters in the men’s shot put.
 
Ursuline
Ursuline will be the lone G-MAC program competing at the CWRU Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Championships in Cleveland, Ohio.

  • Kayla Kephart (Jr., Ursuline) 1.60 meters in the women’s high jump.
  • Adrianna Ruble (Jr., Ursuline) 10.81 meters in the women’s shot put.
  • Keyonna Mcgill (Sr., Ursuline) 58.35 in the women’s 400 meters.
With championship season on deck, this weekend presents one final opportunity for G-MAC athletes to solidify qualifying marks and fine-tune performances before converging at Ashland for the conference meet.
