The official conference championship page includes links for the schedule of events, heat sheets, live results, and live video as well as facility and admission information.
At the 2024 G-MAC Track & Field Championships, the Tiffin Dragons men’s team and the Ashland Eagles women’s team were declared Great Midwest Champions. Tiffin racked up 147 team points in their first place finish while the Eagles tallied up 148.50 on the women’s side.
For individual awards, the conference will see the return of Men’s Field Athlete of the Meet (Ben Haas, Hillsdale) and Men’s Track Athlete of the Meet, (Noah Fisher, Findlay) This season, these award winners have only grown upon their 2024 efforts.
The top finishers of each event will receive all-conference honors and “of the meet” awards will be awarded to the highest point-getters at the end of the championship. At this event, the Great Midwest Elite 26 award winners will be honored. In 2024, Jake Price of Tiffin won on the men’s side and Isabelle Rammell was honored on the women’s side.
Heading into Friday’s competition, various teams are within the Top 25 of the national rankings.
On the men’s side, Ashland spotlights the top spot with a No. 13 ranking. Just behind the Eagles are the Dragons at No. 19 and Findlay Oilers at No. 20. On the women’s end, the Eagles come in at No. 9 with the Oilers just behind at No. 12.
Throughout this season on the men’s side, numerous individuals have been able to improve upon some of the top marks in the G-MAC this year. In the men’s 60-meter dash, Tiffin will look to their stars Dylan Randall and Joshua Page to lead them with times of 6.77 and 6.79 being top three in the conference. Page will also be gunning for a strong showing in the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter, where he leads the conference with a best time of 21.18 and 46.06 seconds.
Ashland will also look to see impressive showings in the 200, with four athletes within the top seven of conference times this year. They also have four within the top eight of the 400-meter.
In distance events, the mile sees a very close battle between Ashland, Tiffin, and Findlay, who all have athletes within the top five times of 2025 so far. Each of these top times were set in the Niss Athletic Center back on February 7th, with the top time being held by Dragons runner Talel Khalifi at 4:03.68. Khalifi also holds the top marks in the 3000 and 5000-meter runs.
For the women, Findlay has the top two racers this season in the 60-meter dash with Jordan Taylor and Leah Smith coming in at 7.41 and 7.43 seconds respectively. Inside the top eight of the 60-meter dash sit three freshmen: Summer Swartwout, Nevaeh Lewis, and Brianna Chenevey, who will all look to have big showings in their first collegiate championships.
Nearly all of the athletes in the 60-meter dash also hold top times in the 200-meter dash, looking to grab more than just one medal.
On the distance end, the women have been spotlighted by Alaysia Brooks for multiple seasons now. The Ursuline Arrow has the best time in the 800-meter with a time of 2:08.58 this season, but just behind her comes Kylie Ray of Findlay at 2:08.80. In the mile, it will be a battle between a number of athletes, but freshman Evyn Humphrey from Hillsdale and senior Lily Dowdell from Ashland have been incredible. Humphrey leads the conference with a time of 4:49.31, with Dowdell just behind at 4:51.65.
Both Dowdell and Humphrey will battle against one another in the 3000-meter run, with Dowdell having the top G-MAC time by a landslide at 9:36.03. The next closest time behind her is Humphrey’s mark of 9:54.08. In the 5000-meter, Dowdell yet again has a nearly untouchable time of 16:27.78. She comes in as a major favorite in both events.
Yet again, both the men’s and women’s relays should be highly contested. On the men’s side, Ashland and Cedarville will spotlight the 4x400, with Findlay, Tiffin, and Ashland being the leading programs on the distance medley. For the women, it should be close, with Findlay, Ashland, Tiffin, and Hillsdale all being under 3:48. The distance medley will also have similar teams with Ashland, Findlay, Hillsdale and Ursuline coming in with the top times this season.
For field events, Ashland and Findlay will see three athletes each within the top six of the men’s pole vault. The high jump should be highly contested, but Charger Cass Dobrowolski’s top mark of 2.20-meters is going to be tough to top as the best G-MAC height this season. In the shot put, Charger Ben Haas comes in as the favorite having taken home numerous conference accolades this year, all while sporting a top throw of 18.67 meters. He also has the best mark in the eight throw at 22.45 meters, nearly two meters ahead of Leyton Nossa of Findlay in second.
The women will be led by a contested race in the high jump as the top four are all within 0.5 inches of one another. The mark to beat was set by Baelyn Zitzmann of Hillsdale at 1.69 meters, 5 '6.5". In the long jump, Ashland’s Hailey Rios comes in with the only NCAA Division II Provisional Mark of 5.83 meters, 19 '1.5 " inches. Molly Winner leads the women’s shot put with an impressive throw of 15.10 meters. Her and Eagle, Leslie Pollock, also hold the top two throws in the weight throw at 20.04 meters and 19.74 meters.
