GASTONIA, N.C.—The Kentucky Wesleyan men’s and women’s bowling teams repeated as Great Midwest Champions as the league hosted their second combined championship with Conference Carolinas.
The Panthers finished the highest of participating Great Midwest teams on both sides. Between both conferences, Belmont Abbey claimed the men’s title and Lincoln Memorial won the women’s.
On the women’s side, the Panthers advanced to the fourth round of the tournament before falling to Emmanual through six games. In the total pinfall five-game Baker set, the Panthers maintained a lead after three games. The Saints pulled ahead with a 179 in the fourth to put the match out of reach.
Kentucky Wesleyan’s Daylin Tolgo was recognized on the All-Tournament team.
For the men’s tournament, KWC advanced to the fourth round, where they went head-to-head with Emmanuel. The Panthers were within 14 pins through the third game before falling short with a total pinfall of 1,069 in round four.
Co-Bowlers of the Year Seth Koloski (KWC), and Jordan Norris (WU) represented the Great Midwest on the All-Tournament team.
