ASHLAND, Ohio – For the second time in as many seasons Findlay’s men and women indoor track and field teams swept the Great Midwest Championships inside the Niss Athletic Center on the campus of Ashland University.
The Findlay men racked up 182 total points in their first-place finish while the women totaled 161.5 to secure both championships.
The Oilers got off to a fast start on day one. The men finished Friday’s events with 43 points clear of Walsh who sat in second place and the women were 43 points ahead of Cedarville.
Findlay finished the meet with ten total gold medals.
The Great Midwest Indoor Championships concluded with an awards ceremony honoring both team champions as well as a host of individual winners. The Great Midwest Elite 26 Award is given to the individual competing in any Great Midwest Championship with the highest cumulative GPA. The individual awards were tallied based on individual point totals.
