Findlay’s men and women are the defending conference team champions. The Oilers currently hold the most titles on the men's side with three, winning back-to-back titles in 2020-21 & 2021-22. In the national rankings, Tiffin and Walsh are slotted at No. 11 and No. 13, respectively.

On the women's side, Findlay and Hillsdale are featured in the Top 25 heading into Friday's competition. Findlay is ranked No. 18 and Hillsdale lands at No. 22.

The top 3 finishers in each event will receive all-conference honors and coaches will vote for “of the meet” awards following the conclusion of the meet.

In addition, the Great Midwest Elite 26 award winners will also be honored.

Several Great Midwest records have been broken this season on both the men’s and women’s side.

On the men’s side, Walsh’s Zach Kreft shattered the mile, 3,000m, and 5,000m records. Kreft was named the Great Midwest Male Cross Country runner of the year this past fall and his success continued into the track and field season. He currently ranks 11th in the nation in the mile (4:03.07), 9th in the 3,000m (7:79.90), and 6th in the 5,000m (13:51.78).

Findlay’s Josh Verhoff also finds himself at the top of the record books in the 200m dash. Verhoff registered a time of 21.23 at the Oiler Open, which ranks ninth in the nation.

Malachi Adams from Tiffin holds the record for the 60m dash at 6.66. Adams’ time ranks third in Division II.

Newest member Northwood University will look to make a statement at their first G-MAC Indoor Track & Field championship. Josh Jones already broke the all-time record in the 800m with a 1:50.78 time, which ranks 16th in the country.

The men’s weight throw event has considerable depth as five athletes from the conference are ranked in the Top 10 in D2. Gabe Miller and Jacob McPherson headline the event at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. McPherson also ranks 4th in the shot put with a mark of 18.23m.

The women are headlined by several student-athletes who have broken conference records and have hit provisional marks in their events.

Walsh’s Kya Epps is having a successful freshman season as she currently holds the record in the 60m and 200m dash. Her 60m time of 7.53 ranks 17th in the country.

Also 17th in her event is Hillsdale’s Shura Ermakov. Ermakov finds herself first in the conference record books in the 400m, registering a time of 55.63.

In field events, Findlay’s Simone Green and Ashland’s Carrol Pauley made their marks in the record books. Green’s 11.94m in the triple jump and Pauley’s 19.81m weight throw now rank first in G-MAC history.

Like the men, shot put will have a competitive showing with four Great Midwest student-athletes ranked in the Top 10 nationally. Leading the way is Findlay’s Trista Fintel with a mark of 15.72m
