GASTONIA, N.C. - The men's and women's Kentucky Wesleyan bowling teams went 3-1 on Saturday at the Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Bowling Championship. KWC's women's team won twice and is still alive on for Sunday's final action.
The Panther women beat Tusculum (4-0) and Emmanuel (4-2) to advance to face top seed Lincoln Memorial in the final.
"It's been a rollercoaster. It's been better than we could imagine and we're really excited for tomorrow," said KWC's Alyssa Zombirt, who is the 2022 Great Midwest Women's Bowling Player of the Year.
WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SCOREBOAD
The Panther men had a dramatic and exciting comeback before falling to Emmanuel Saturday afternoon. Down 3-0 in a best-of-7 format, the Panthers roared back to win four games in a row over Belmont Abbey, the local team that was playing in its home alley. The match came down to a final spare pickup by Seth Koloski.
The Panthers' magic ran out in a 4-1 loss to Emmanuel.
MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SCOREBOARD
Kentucky Wesleyan, the men's and women's bowling champions for the Great Midwest, will see its women's team play Sunday at 8 a.m. to compete for the joint championship against Lincoln Memorial.
