After breaking both the 60-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash records in the previous two weeks, the sprinter shattered the 200-meter dash record this weekend at the University of Kentucky’s Rod McCravy Memorial Meet. Bassitt crossed the line in 20.89 seconds breaking the Great Midwest conference record of 21.57, previously set by Findlay’s Josh Verhoff in 2020 at the Akron Campbell Invitational.

That time currently ranks first in Division II and ninth in the world this indoor campaign. It also gives the Bluffton, Ohio native his third individual provisional mark of the season for the 2022 NCAA Division II Championships.

Bassitt is also a part of Ashland’s 4x400 relay which set a new provisional time of 3:12.08, which vaulted the team to the top NCAA Division II list for this indoor season.
