Awards Round Up: Women's Cross Country Post-Season Recap

INDIANAPOLIS—Cedarville was the lone representative from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division II Women’s Cross Country National Championship. The G-MAC Champs were joined by two student-athletes who qualified as individuals.
 
The national meet was held Chambers Creek Regional Park, located in Seattle.
 
The Yellow Jackets earned an automatic qualifying bid to the national race after finishing second at Midwest Regionals. In Seattle, Cedarville finished seventh overall, their best-ever finish at the national level. Savannah Ackley led the way as she finished 41st in the 6k race with a time of 21:24.9, a program-best time. Ackley was followed by teammates Hannah Rhem in 50th and Naomi Herman in 57th. Overall, The Yellow Jackets totaled a team score of 271.
 
Hillsdale’s Liz Wamsley had an outstanding performance at the race as she earned All-American Status following the conclusion of the meet. In a field of 263 competitors, the Top 40 are recognized as All-Americans. Wamsley, who qualified as an individual, found herself finishing 22nd with a career-best time of 21:08.9. Meg Scheske (HC) joined Wamsley to round out individual qualifiers from the conference. Scheske finished 76th with a time of 21:47.8.
