Cedarville Yellow Jackets Come Out on Top at Women's Cross Country Championships

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference women’s Cross Country teams competed in the G-MAC XC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 25.

 

The team leading the G-MAC was the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets, reclaiming their title after being outscored by the Walsh University Cavaliers during the 2024 championships.  The victory earned head coach Jeff Bolender Coach of the Year honors.

 

The top finisher came from the Hillsdale College Chargers in Allision Kuzma with a time of 20:29.1. This first place finish earned Kuzma the title of Runner of the Year.

Taking second and third place were Cavaliers Claire Rethman and Yellow Jackets Emily Walsh, respectively.  Rethman earned a time of 20.35.1 and Walsh earned a time of 20:47.0 to earn runner-up status.

The Freshman of the Year came from the Yellow Jackets runner Caroline Hamilton, who clocked a time of 21:53.7 for an eighth place finish.

Teams will begin preparing for the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, Nov. 8 in Kenosha, WI.
