INDIANAPOLIS- After a vote from the league’s Sports Information Directors, Hillsdale’s Allison Kuzma was voted as the Great Midwest Athlete of the Year.
 
The award is traditionally presented on an annual level to a nominee based on athletic accomplishments and contributions to their specific sport and the institution’s overall athletic program.
 
During her sophomore season, Kuzma grabbed two national championship titles in. Her first national title came in the 5K at the indoor championship, clocking a time of 15:58.57. Her time ranks as the fastest in G-MAC history and 11^th all-time in DII. She then won another title at the outdoor championship in the 10K. She crossed the finish line at 33:10.83, setting a program and Great Midwest record.
 
In cross country, Kuzma earned Runner of the Year after winning her first G-MAC championship. She then went on to finish second at the regional meet and 13^th nationally, earning her all-American status.
 
The Zeeland, Michigan native will enter her junior year a five-time G-MAC champion, two-time national champion, and four-time all-American.
