INDIANAPOLIS – In their first tournaments of 2022 and first competitions since November, both the men’s and women’s bowling teams at Walsh secured top-five finishes at the Ohio Bowling Conference #3 at Wayne Webb’s in Columbus, Ohio. Those performances led the Cavs to sweeping the Great Midwest Bowling Athletes of the Week honors.
The men’s team finished the weekend tied for fourth place in a 13-team field while the women held off 11 other teams to take the tournament title.

Yacono finished in fourth place as an individual helping propel the Cavaliers to a first-place finish at the third Ohio Bowling Conference over the weekend.
The junior finished knocked down 581 total pins over a three-game series walking away with a 193.67 average for the tournament. Her high game tied for best game of the day with a 215.
Walsh returns to action Jan. 28, for the Red Flash Invitational in Altoona, Pa.

en’s Bowling Athlete of the Week

Sophomore
Canton, OH (Green HS)
Norris was named Tournament MVP after a stellar performance on the lanes. His 669 series earned him a first-place finish from a field of 137 bowlers.
The high game of Norris’ series came in game one when he rolled a 264 helping him to a 223 average for the tournament. He followed that performance with games of 225 and 180.
The Cavaliers will return to the lanes on Feb. 5 for the Muskie Mash in Coshocton, Ohio.
