INDIANAPOLIS – The season openers were officially completed among several programs in the new season as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week awards were announced on Tuesday.

Findlay, host institution of this year’s indoor conference championship meet, were the first program to make their season debut at the Oiler Opener that started on Thursday.
Making quite the impression to start the indoor campaign was DeHaven, a transfer from Division I University of Cincinnati as he won the 5K with the season’s top time in Division II.
DeHaven is a graduate student and he ran an 8:19.82 in his first event as an Oiler.
DeHaven also checks in at third all-time in the conference record books only behind a pair of efforts in the event from former Hillsdale All-American Joseph Humes.

Both Ott and his teammate on the women’s side, Ndidiamaka Anaraodo, put on a show from the throws cage at the Mount Union Toy Drive to open the new winter season.
Ott went out and produced a pair of provisional marks in the shot put and the weight throw with distances of 16.65m and 19.39m, respectively.
The senior already ranks fourth among Division II student-athletes in the weight throw and is slotted at No. 15 from opening weekend in the shot put.
