INDIANAPOLIS – Tiffin closed the deal on another pair of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week awards that were announced on Wednesday by the league.
 
The Great Midwest Indoor Track & Field Championships are approaching as student-athletes take aim at meet records and all-conference honors inside Tiffin’s Heminger Center. The Dragons are defending conference champions in both genders.

With the cameras filming and flashes popping on national tv, Baker and several of his Dragons’ teammates showcased their talents at the USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M.
 
Baker ran a 6.62 among the fastest men in the country in the 60-meter dash to officially match his own conference record.
 
Baker also ran two different times of 6.67 as he prepares to defend his NCAA DII national title in the 60-meter dash.
 
Baker had also run a 6.62 in last year’s final of the NCAA DII Championships. He has nine of the top 10 marks in conference history in the 60-meter dash.
 
Baker is one of seven automatic qualifiers in the event in Division II and ranks 11th nationwide this season, including Division I competition.
 
Baker was also named the USTFCCCA DII Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career for his performance at the USATF Indoor Championships, a specific qualifying event.

Burrows remains No. 1 in Division II in the high jump and he recorded yet another top 10 record book performance at the Findlay Alumni Classic.
 
With his season-best height at 2.19m, Burrows cleared 2.10m (6’ 10.75”) to take first place. It was another provisional mark for the talented senior.
 
This is Burrows’ second conference field athlete of the week honor for the current 2019-20 season.
