INDIANAPOLIS – With NCAA Division II-best performances, Tiffin and Findlay staked claim to Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards on Monday afternoon.

Baker blasted through the conference record books with new event bests in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter run at the Saginaw Valley State Holiday Open.
Baker clocked the fastest time in NCAA Division II this year with a 6.76 in the finals (tied with Northwood’s Mason Phillips), breaking the previous Great Midwest best of Alderson Broaddus speedster Todd Sekowski.
The junior Dragon sprinter’s preliminary effort was also fast enough to set the conference record with a 6.80.
Baker then clocked a 21.85 in the 200-meter distance to finish second in the event only to Philipps. His time broke the previous conference record held by Walsh’s Hunter Williams (21.96) set last year.
Baker’s time at the SVSU Holiday Open currently ranks 18th among all provisional qualifiers in Division II.

Etsey smashed his previous conference record in the triple jump and also established the nation’s best distance in the event at the UF-hosted Oiler Opener.
Etsey auto qualified for 2019 nationals in Pittsburg, Kan., with a leap of 15.66m (51’ 4.5”). He is currently the lone auto national qualifier in Division II with Elijah Calderon-Pitchford’s 15.23m from Minnesota State currently in second.
His previous best was a 15.16m measured at the Tiffin Dragon Open last year.
Etsey was the conference runner-up in the triple jump at the Great Midwest Indoor Championships as a freshman last season.
