INDIANAPOLIS – Malone sophomore Ashton Dulin and senior Logan Studer were the final Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week of the regular season.
The regular season officially closed in the past week of competition as everyone now gets ready for the G-MAC Indoor T&F Championships on Saturday at Cedarville’s Doden Field House.
Malone competed at the Kent State Tune-Up Meet. Dulin earned the weekly track honor for the second time this season while Studer is a first-time recipient of field honors.
Dulin placed second in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a mark of 8.17 seconds. The performance was just .06 off the Pioneer school record in the event and .03 off his personal-best. It also marked the third-fastest indoor 60-meter hurdles time in G-MAC history.
On top of his strong showing in the hurdles, Dulin also took ninth in the 200 meters with a new personal record time of 22.58 seconds.
Studer took fourth in the pole vault competition on Saturday with a leap of 4.25 meters (13' 11.25"). The performance ranks as the best pole vault mark this year among G-MAC student-athletes and was just shy of Studer's personal-best in the event.
Malone will be back in action on Saturday at the G-MAC Indoor T&F Championships.
