INDIANAPOLIS – The first selections for Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week were released with nationally ranked programs garnering honors.

Four different records were broken on the men’s side during the first weekend of competition including the 400-meter run, 4x4 relay, high jump and shot put.

Sprints
Pittsburgh, PA (West Mifflin HS)

The sophomore speedster Sekowski clocked some impressive standards at the hand-timed Marty Pushkin Classic to start the indoor season.

He won the 60-meter dash (approximately 6.67 seconds) and his heat in the 200-meter dash. Sekowski also ran a 51.10 split during his leg of the 4x400-meter relay as the Battlers were timed by coach Jesse Weiner at 3:37.00.

Since times at the Marty Pushkin Classic were hand-timed, results do not officially count towards national or provisional qualifying national standards.

Sekowski is also an outfielder on the Alderson Broaddus baseball team.

Field Athlete of the Week
Adam Bouchard
Kentucky Wesleyan
Freshman
Jumps
Owensboro, KY (Daviess County HS)

Bouchard, also a quarterback on the Kentucky Wesleyan football roster, made a splash in the UIndy Season Opener over the weekend to start his indoor career.

The homegrown Owensboro product broke the high jump record on one of his final attempts with a distance cleared of 2.05 meters (6’ 8.75”) to set a new conference record.

His new mark also ranks 10th best across Division II as a handful of provisional qualifiers from the first week of competition.

He also ran the 200 and was a member of the 4x4 relay.
