INDIANAPOLIS – Malone sophomore Ashton Dulin and senior Duke Taylor were named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Dulin competed in the 60-meter hurdles Friday at the SPIRE Midwest Open in Geneva, Ohio and staked his claim with one of the best times in league history.

Known for his speedy exploits on the field as a wide receiver for the Pioneers’ football program, Dulin provisionally qualified for nationals with an 8.14 clocking in the final, a top-20 time around the country this current indoor season.

The 8.14 time tied Dulin for second all time in conference with Malik Lewis (Central State), who set his mark in 2014. Dulin now holds three of the top five times in the 60-meter hurdles.

Taylor, who has now won G-MAC Field Athlete of the Week four times in a row now, finished first in the weight throw with a 19.82m toss, breaking his own G-MAC record of 18.63m set earlier this month at the Northwest Ohio Invitational.

Taylor now holds the top four best distances in the weight throw in the G-MAC and ranks ninth nationally while provisionally qualifying yet again in the event.
