INDIANAPOLIS – Kentucky Wesleyan sophomore combo James Glenn and Dallan Goldring swept Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week status on Monday.
This is Glenn’s second track athlete of the week honor of the current indoor season and Goldring’s first field athlete of the week selection.
Glenn and Goldring both made an impact at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational over the weekend, each setting their own respective conference records.
Glenn streaked his way to a new G-MAC standard in the 60-meter dash, sprinting to a provisional-qualifying time of 6.90 in the finals. He broke the previous time of 6.93 recorded in 2014 by former Panther Tevin Washington.
The preliminary time clocked by Glenn is also among the league’s all-time best at 6.94, good for a ranking of third overall.
Glenn also posted a time of 22.36 in the 200-meter dash, the best in the conference this indoor season. That time currently also ranks narrowly in third only behind Cedarville’s Andre Klaassen (22.33 and 22.34).
Glenn has the G-MAC’s best times for the current indoor season in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 400-meter run.
Goldring covered over 43 feet (13.27m) as he shattered the previous triple jump conference record held by Alderson Broaddus’ Brian Scott. He finished third in the event overall.
Goldring also competed in the 60-meter prelims, long jump and was a member of the winning 4x400-meter relay unit with Glenn in 3:30.55.
