FINAL MEN'S RESULTS

ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

CEDARVILLE, Ohio
– Cedarville was crowned the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor & Track Field Championship winners for the second straight year following Saturday’s meet.

The second annual conference event was held at Cedarville’s Doden Field House where the Yellow Jackets won 11 of the 16 total events scored.

The Yellow Jackets racked up 241 points to hold off the rest of the field including runner-up Alderson Broaddus (95), Kentucky Wesleyan (91) and Trevecca Nazarene.

G-MAC Coach of the Year honors went to Jeff Bolender again as Cedarville pulled off the men’s and women’s sweep inside its own venue.

Additional individual awards went to Ben Moroney of Trevecca Nazarene (G-MAC Track Athlete of the Year), Jonathan Scouten of Cedarville (G-MAC Field Athlete of the Year) and Marcus Anderson (G-MAC Freshman of the Year).

Coaches determined the voting outcome for individual awards following the conclusion of the event.

Moroney was the decisive victor in the 5K race in 15:19.67 and came in third in the 3K behind three-time G-MAC Athlete of the Week Daniel Michalski (Cedarville) and 2015 G-MAC Co-Track Athlete of the Year/teammate Logan Rodgers (TNU).

Moroney legged out the meet’s top two longest distances. He had already finished third at the G-MAC Cross Country Championships earlier in the fall in Elkins, W.Va.

Scouten, already the presumed favorite in the throwing cage, displayed his skill as a true freshman while winning shot put and weight throw.

Field events were cleaned up from Cedarville as Samuel Tvardzik defended his high jump title from a year ago and freshman provisional qualifier Calvin Pitney put on a show in pole vault to clear 4.72 meters (nearly 15 feet and six inches).

Cedarville’s Andre Klaassen quietly went about his business and raced his way to first in the 55-meter dash (6.64) and 200. Josiah Bernard (400), Wyatt Hartman (800) and Ethan Gatchell (mile) also won for Cedarville.

One of the most exciting finishes of the day came when Michalski accelerated on his final lap and edged out Rodgers to finish the 3K with a time of 8:28.24.

For Kentucky Wesleyan, Dallan Goldring won triple jump and the 55-meter hurdles by one-tenth of a second while also finishing second in the long jump and the 4x400-meter relay.

Anderson was the league’s top freshman pick following his long jump title with a distance of 6.28 meters.
