GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville sophomore middle distance runner Daniel Michalski was named the eighth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the indoor season on Monday.

This is the second week in a row Michalski has had the honor of being named G-MAC Athlete of the Week.

Michalski and the Yellow Jackets had a strong performance on Friday as they finished fourth at the NCCAA Indoor Championship. He turned in two NCCAA All-American performances in the mile and the 800-meter run.

Right out of the gate, Michalski dominated the mile race as he went on to beat 17 other runners to again provisionally qualify for the national indoor meet. He also competed in the 800 where he clinched third.

He ran the mile with a time of 4:12.66, a little shy of his previous season best of 4:09.91 he set at the Grand Valley State Big Meet earlier this year. He also clocked a personal best with his 800 time of 1:56.23.

The top three finishers in each event earned NCCAA All-American status.

Michalski and the Yellow Jackets gear up for this weekend where they will compete in the G-MAC Indoor Championship hosted by Cedarville.
