GREENWOOD, Ind. – Kentucky Wesleyan freshman sprinter/jumper James Glenn was named the fifth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Glenn, a rising first-year performer on the KWC roster, showed his versatility on the track competed in multiple events with success on Saturday at the Principia Relays.
It marked KWC’s second event of the indoor season and Glenn posted a new conference season-best indoor time in the 60-meter dash. He also tied freshman KWC teammate Dallan Goldring for the G-MAC’s best height cleared this season in the high jump.
It represented Glenn’s first time ever competing in the high jump at any level.
Glenn clocked a 7.04 in the 60-meter dash. He beat his own PR in the event by one hundredth of a second from his collegiate debut at the season-opening Gerry England Open (7.05).
As it currently stands, Glenn also recorded the second-best conference time this year in the 200-meter dash, blazing with an adjusted time of 22.57.
The speedster also ran the third leg of a winning 1,600-meter sprint medley relay unit and was the second leg in KWC’s 3:35.81 time in the 4x400-meter relay.
Kentucky Wesleyan is scheduled to resume the indoor season this weekend at the Tiger Small College Invitational at DePauw in Indiana.
