GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville sophomore Daniel Michalski was named the fourth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the indoor season on Monday.
Michalski and the Yellow Jackets traveled to Youngstown, Ohio, to compete in the Youngstown State Invitational on Friday.
Michalski won the mile event while beating out 29 other runners. With the time of 4:16.50, he set the best time in conference this year during the current indoor season.
Michalski also crushed his own G-MAC all-time indoor record of 4:19.97 from the NCCAA Indoor Championship back in February of 2015.
While Michalski led the pack of mile runners, teammate Wyatt Hartman, a junior at Cedarville, crossed the finish line in third just shy of the second-place time.
Cedarville continues its indoor season with the Spire Midwest Open on Friday, January 29, in Geneva, Ohio.
