GREENWOOD, Ind. – Alderson Broaddus freshman Paris Vaughan was named the third Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the indoor season on Monday.
The Battlers competed at the Marietta Invite over the weekend in Ohio.
Today’s selection also marks the second consecutive week a freshman Alderson Broaddus men’s track athlete received conference honors (Felton Jackson).
At the Marietta Invite, Vaughan clocked the conference’s current best time of the season in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.84 seconds.
He also ran the 200-meter dash in 23.78 seconds and was a member of the school’s record-breaking 4x200-meter relay unit with a time of 1:35.62.
He also ran a leg in the 4x400-meter relay as the Battlers placed eighth in the event.
This weekend, the Battlers are ticketed for entry at the Marty Pushkin Classic hosted by West Virginia University.
