GREENWOOD, Ind. – Alderson Broaddus freshman Felton Jackson was named the second Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the indoor season on Monday.

The Battlers competed at the Capital Challenge on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio, their first event of the new calendar year.

Jackson clocked a 400-meter dash time of 53.39 to finish second in the event.

In the G-MAC’s nine attempts this year in the 400-meter distance, Jackson’s time is second only behind Kentucky Wesleyan’s James Glenn. The top three times this year are currently owned by freshmen around the league.

Jackson also competed on the 4x400-meter relay team that came in third with Paris Vaughan and Jeremy Reed. The unit finished third with a time of 3:46.59.

As a team, the Battlers finished second out of six schools in the final points standings.

AB will return to competition this Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Marietta Invite in Marietta, Ohio.
