Josiah Bernard has been named the Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week, earning the honor by a slim margin as he posted two conference records in the 400m race and the high jump.
Bernard finished third overall in the 400-meter run, but his time of 50.18 second topped his own G-MAC record by over a second (51.35), which he set just a week prior.
In the high jump, Bernard finished in fifth place overall, but once again established a new conference record mark, making a jump of 1.96m or 6’ 5” - topping his previous record of 1.92 meters, which he was tied with teammate Samuel Tvardzik with, by an inch and a half. In his first year, Bernard now has posted the three best heights in conference history, twice tying with Tvardzik.

Freshman - Middle Distance/High Jump
Washburn, ME - Washburn High School
Carsyn Koch has also been named the Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the second-straight week following her record breaking performance at the Ohio Northern Invitational.
Koch posted a first place finish in the 500-meter race and helped her 4x400 meter relay team also capture a first place finish. In the 500-meter race, Koch only needed to outrun one other runner in the two person event, but she wasn’t just looking for a first place finish.
She posted a G-MAC record time of 1:14.41 (after it was converted for track size) in the event - over three seconds faster than any time posted this season and beat the conference record by about two and a half seconds, set last year by Nicole Burlinson of Ursuline.
In winning the 4x400 meter race, Cedarville posted its fastest time of the season (4:01.76 - after conversion), but still trail Ursuline’s record time set in December by about eight seconds.
