Brian Scott has been named the Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after a great individual performance at the West Virginia University Invitational in which all three levels of the NCAA were represented.

Scott earned a pair of first place finishes in the long jump and the triple jump. In the long jump, Scott posted a distance of 6.35 meters (20’ 10”) which ranks third in the conference this season and is the fifth best mark in conference history. Women’s Track and Field: Athlete of the Week

Erin Brown
Alderson Broaddus University (@ABBattlers)
Sophomore - Mid-Distance
Hacker Valley, West Virginia - Webster County High School

Erin Brown has been named the Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after her performance at the West Virginia University Invitational, in which schools from all three levels of the NCAA competed.

Brown earned a fifth place finish in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:27.05. In a field of 14 runners, she finished behind four NCAA Division I runners. Her time is the first time posted in the 500 meter distance in the conference this season, but ranks third all-time in the conference (time was reduced to 1:25.96 for NCAA purposes because of track dimensions at West Virginia University).

In the process, Brown shattered AB's school record in the 500-meter event and was part of another program record established in the relay events.

Brown also competed as a member of the 4x400 and the 4x800 relay teams. The 4x400 team finished eighth overall, while the Battlers' record-breaking 4x800 unit earned a fourth place finish with a time of 10:44.36.
