GREENWOOD, Ind. - On Monday, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference recognized the Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week as a few of the indoor programs in the conference were back in action following a small break for the holidays. TNU's Taylor Flemming and Caroline Hampton swept the awards for the Trojans, who took part in the UAB Blazer Invite.

Taylor Flemming has been named the Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week to open the 2015 portion of indoor season after a small break for the new year. Flemming and his teammates competed at the University of Alabama Birmingham Blazer Invite over the weekend.
Flemming set a personal record in the 5,000 meter open run with a time of 15:58.48 to finish in first. His official time in the 1,000 meter run placed him sixth out of a field of 21 runners. He ran a time of 2:40.65.

Women’s Track and Field: Athlete of the Week

Caroline Hampton has been named the Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the first time and earns the honor to open the 2015 portion of indoor season after a small break for the new year. Hampton and her teammates competed at the University of Alabama Birmingham Blazer Invite over the weekend.
Hampton continued her impressive freshman season with a third place finish in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:04.50, which sets a new conference record by almost 14 seconds. She missed the provisional mark needed for the NCAA Division II Championships by three seconds.
