Bea Indurain has been named the Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week to open up the 2014-15 indoor season for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Her performances at the Youngstown State University Icebreaker and the Case Western Reserve University Spartan Holiday Classic put her in a position early to earn a spot at nationals.

At the YSU Icebreaker, she won the 60-meter hurdles event, setting a school record, and also posting an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.84. Her time established a new conference record topping last year’s time of 8.93 from Central State’s Shatasia Walker. She also set a new school record in the long jump (5.31 meters) coming in fourth in the field of 31 participants.

At the Holiday Classic, she set two more school records, first clearing 10.63 meters to win the triple jump event and then running the fastest 55-meter hurdles time (8.40) in the prelims, before sitting out the finals. Her prelim time was faster than anyone’s time in the finals by a wide margin.
