INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named James Anderson of Alderson Broaddus University and Nicole Burlinson of Ursuline College the Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

James Anderson has been named G-MAC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week following his performance at the State Farm Games in Morgantown, West Virginia.
 
A distance runner and participant in some of the jumping events, Anderson broke the Battlers record in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:12.79 to finish fifth overall in the race. Even more impressive, Anderson broke the school record in the weight throw with a distance of 8.68 meters in the finals.

Women’s Track and Field: Athlete of the Week

Nicole Burlinson has been named the Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the second time out of three weeks in which the honor has been handed out. Burlinson received the honors for her performance at the Northwest Ohio Invitational, hosted by the University of Findlay this past weekend.  
 
Burlinson brought home a pair of second place finishes, one of which she finished behind an unattached runner. In the 500 meter dash, she finished behind Steph Tinney, who ran unattached. Her time of 1:17.17 was about a second behind first place and a second ahead of third.
 
In the 3,000 meter run, which was described as an event she does not participate, Burlinson broke the school record with a time of 10:18.21. She finished second in a field of 27 runners. She finished a second behind first place and over three seconds ahead of the third place finisher.
