INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Andre Klaassen of Cedarville University the Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after breaking the schools 60-meter dash record in his very first collegiate event.

Andre Klaassen has been named G-MAC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week to open the 2013-14 season, which will be the first season the Great Midwest Athletic Conference sponsors the sport of Track and Field (Indoor and Outdoor).
Klaassen made his first indoor collegiate meet a memorable one by breaking the Cedarville school record in the 60-meter dash at the Findlay Open on Saturday, December 7. Klaassen, who initially broke the record in his prelims race (7.12 seconds), was timed in 7.11 seconds in the finals to place fifth overall and establish the new mark.
In his other race at the non-scoring event, he finished third in the 200-meter run with a time of 22.92.
