Ashland University's athletic department has added
Jackson Janetski as its Director of Digital Media and Broadcasting.
Janetski was a sports information graduate assistant at the University of Indianapolis for two years (2024-26), serving as the primary contact for baseball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's golf, women's basketball, women's lacrosse and wrestling.
He also created social media content for Indianapolis athletics, kept in-game statistics, wrote for the athletics web site, and promoted athletic programs with local media outlets.
"We're excited to welcome Jackson to Ashland," said AU Director of Athletics
Al King. "He comes to us from the University of Indianapolis and all of us on the Division II level have a great deal of respect for their athletic program and what they've accomplished. My hope is that Jackson can bring us new ideas and take us in some different directions. He will have every opportunity to do that. Not only did we interview him in Ashland, we got had the chance to see him work thanks to our participation in the NCAA playoffs in softball and lacrosse.
"I believe he'll be an excellent fit for us. He's young, energetic and determined to help us improve."
Said Janetski, "I first want to thank Athletic Director
Al King, and Director of Athletic Communications
Dusty Sloan, for this incredible opportunity. Growing up in Ohio, Ashland has always been a place I've seen exceed both on and off the field, and I'm excited to begin to contribute and grow Ashland's athletic brand. It's a privilege to join the Ashland team and begin showcasing these incredible student-athletes experiences through the power of storytelling.
"I'm thrilled to be able to put Ashland on the map not just regionally, but nationally, and making Ashland one of the premiere institutions in Division II."
A 2023 graduate of The Ohio State University, Janetski was a radio broadcaster, podcaster and reporter for a student-led public relations team while in nearby Columbus.
Janetski, along with Sloan, will lead the Eagles' athletic communications department's efforts in broadcasting, social media, web site content, statistics and more.
"It's always exciting when new people join our athletic department, and it will be a pleasure to work with Jackson to bring our athletic communications department to new heights," Sloan said. "The coming weeks and months will be fun to see what we come up with to promote all facets of our department's past, present and future."
Janetski is the 12
th full-time member of the Ashland athletic communications office since 1968.
