TIFFIN, Ohio – Tiffin University is proud to welcome
Frank Maira as its new Sports Information Director. Maira began his role on June 15 and brings extensive experience across NCAA Division II and III athletics.
Maira joins Tiffin after serving as Athletics Communications Coordinator at Ithaca College (NCAA Division III) since 2021. During his time with the Bombers, he served as the primary contact for men's and women's crew/sculling, men's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, softball, volleyball, women's basketball, and men's and women's wrestling. During the winter of 2024, Maira was chosen to be a part of the inaugural cohort for the NCAA Division III Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite Program.

Kelly Daniel. "He brings pride, creativity, and excitement to the position and will do a tremendous job promoting our student athletes, coaches, staff, and university. He will play a key role in elevating our athletics communications. Frank made an immediate impact and formed a strong connection with the search committee, and we are pleased and excited to have him join our team as he begins his journey as a Dragon."
At Ithaca, Maira produced a wide range of content, including press releases, social media graphics, and feature stories, while also assisting in the mentorship of more than 25 athletic communications and creative media student workers.

"I can't wait to build on the great work of my predecessor, Shane O'Donnell, and start telling the stories of TU's outstanding student-athletes and coaches. It's an exciting time to be at Tiffin, and I'm thrilled to be part of it."
Prior to Ithaca, Maira spent four years at Penn State Mont Alto as Assistant Director of Athletics and Sports Information Director. In that role, he served as the primary media contact for all 12 intercollegiate programs and oversaw intramural and club sports operations. While at Mont Alto, Maira played a key role in redesigning the athletics website, improving both navigation and visual appeal. He also developed a strong and consistent social media presence for the department, creating original content and serving as a liaison to local and regional media.
Maira's earlier experience includes a graduate assistantship at Millersville University (2014–16) and an athletic communications internship at Franklin & Marshall College in 2016. He earned his bachelor's degree in broadcast & digital communications in 2014 from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., and then received a master's degree in sport management from Millersville University in 2016.
While at Westminster, he was a four-year member of the football team, served as the sports editor for
The Holcad where he was responsible for designing the sports section of the 24 yearly issues, while also writing a feature story and assigning story ideas for staff writers.
