INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference continued to demonstrate its depth and broad-based athletic success during the 2025-26 academic year, with 11 member institutions earning a place in the final LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup standings, highlighted by a conference-best performance from University of Findlay Athletics.
The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup, presented annually by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and LEARFIELD, recognizes overall athletic department excellence based on NCAA postseason success across all sports.
Leading the way for the conference was University of Findlay, which finished 16th nationally with 566.25 points, marking the highest placement among all Great Midwest institutions and securing the Oilers’ second consecutive top-20 national finish. Findlay advanced 13 teams to NCAA postseason competition and recorded multiple top-five national finishes during the year.
Joining Findlay among the conference’s top performers were Ashland University in 26th place and Tiffin University in 56th
, giving the G-MAC three institutions among the nation’s top 60 NCAA Division II athletic departments.
In total, 11 Great Midwest members appeared in the final standings, showcasing the conference’s competitive strength across a wide range of championship sports. In addition to Findlay, Ashland, and Tiffin, conference institutions represented in the final standings included Cedarville, Hillsdale, Walsh, Northwood, Lake Erie, Kentucky Wesleyan, Malone, and Ohio Dominican.
