Waco, Texas- It took a half to get things rolling, but ultimately the Oilers did what they needed to do on Saturday, earning a dominating 28-0 victory over the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers in Donnell Stadium. The win keeps the Oilers unbeaten at 7-0 (5-0 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC)). For that effort, Findlay has now moved to no. 14 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches Poll — the highest ranking in program history. The previous best was no. 16, achieved last week.
The Oilers join #1 Ferris State, #5 Augustana, #9 Minnesota State, #13 Indianapolis, #15 Minnesota-Duluth, #18 Grand Valley State, and #20 Ashland as the lone teams ranked in Super Region III. Ashland joins the Oilers as the lone teams representing the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).
Findlay will host Ohio Dominican this Saturday with kickoff set for noon.
