Walsh's Ross Trias Headlines Men's Tennis Awards

OWENSBORO, Ky. As six postseason team qualifiers are set to compete this weekend, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference men’s tennis all-conference teams were announced Thursday afternoon.
 
Sixteen individuals, as voted on by the league’s coaches, were recognized on the all-conference list for their work on the court during the 2025-26 season.
 
Eight student-athletes were named to the first-team, followed by eight more in the second team. Individual honors, including freshman, player, coach, and Elite 26 were also recognized.
 
For the men, Tiffin’s Phil Conley was voted as the Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive season. Tiffin won the regular season for the fifth straight year, registering a perfect 8-0 mark. In addition to an impressive team record, Conley landed four individuals on the all-conference team, three of which were voted to the first-team. Romain Marrionneau, Jose Portillo, and Martin Driesner were voted first team after each recording just one loss in conference singles play. Lorenzo Perucchini went 15-4 in singles play and 15-5 in doubles to land a spot on the second-team all-conference. The Dragons earned the top-seed and a first-round bye in the conference tournament. They are currently ranked third in the Midwest Region.
 
The No. 2 seeded Northwood Timberwolves saw Sergio Lopez Guillen and Andrey Pikulin earn first-team honors, while Marc Ferrando was voted to the second team. Guillen returns after winning Freshman of the Year honors last season. He finished conference play with a singles record of 6-1 at the No. 1 position. Ferrando registered a perfect 7-0 conference mark in singles to help the Timberwolves to a 7-1 mark.
 
A pair of Oilers in Clement Andrieu and Soh Kuyama led Findlay to a No. 3 seed and a 6-2 conference record. The duo was voted first-team after posting impressive records at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions.
 
Walsh’s Ross Trias posted a dominate first year, winning both Player and Freshman of the Year honors. Playing at No. 1 singles, Trias went undefeated in conference singles play, while dropping just one set during the regular season. Trias’ overall singles record for the year is 20-8 and is ranked No. 9 in the Midwest Region. The Barcelona, Spain native led the Cavaliers to a No. 4 seed in the conference tournament, where they will face No. 5 Hillsdale. Nicolas Stroehle and Joan Dasi round out all-conference members from Walsh. In addition to all-conference honors, Stroehle also earned the league’s Elite 26 Award. Strohele is a sophomore majoring in finance.
 
Hillsdale earned the No. 5 seed, while Cedarville is slotted at No. 6.
