INDIANAPOLIS- The Tiffin University Dragons find themselves at the top of the 2026 men’s tennis coaches preseason poll, released Tuesday afternoon. The Dragons received five first place for a total of 70 points.
Head Coach Phil Conley returns the 2026 Player of the Year Martin Driesner as well as Freshman of the Year Romain Marionneau. Driesner posted a an impressive 7-1 conference record, competing at No. 1 singles during his sophomore season. He finished the regular season 13-6 in singles play. Marionneau is coming off a rookie season where he registered a 12-7 overall record in singles. He went undefeated at No. 2 doubles with a perfect 7-0 mark last season. The duo were first team all-conference selections and led the Dragons to a perfect conference record of 8-0. Jose Portillo also returns for Tiffin after being an second-team all-conference selection last season.
Northwood was voted second, receiving four first place votes and a total of 67 points. Sergio Lopez Guillen is the top returner for the Timberwolves after being voted as one of the top freshman in the conference. Lopez Guillen recorded an overall singles record of 15
-5 and registered 14 doubles wins. The Timberwolves registered a conference record of 7-1 and earned a first-round bye in the conference championship.
Findlay rounds out the top three in the coaches poll with 57 points. Soh Kuyama and Clement Andrieu return for the Oilers after being all-conference selections last season. Findlay finished the 2025 season with a 12-9 overall record.
Hillsdale and Walsh were voted fourth and fifth, followed by Cedarville and Ashland.
Hillsdale’s Ryan Papazov earned a share of the Freshman of the Year honors after posting a 9-17 singles record.
Thomas More and Kentucky Wesleyan round out the coaches poll, respectively.
The 2026 spring season opened last weekend as G-MAC programs went 7-1 against non-conference opponents.
