G-MAC Golf Recap - Week 4

INDIANAPOLIS — The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) spring golf season hit full stride in Week 4, with multiple men's and women's programs traveling south to compete in high-profile tournaments across the Carolinas and Florida. The week was highlighted by individual victories, top-tier team finishes, and the conference leaderboard taking shape as more teams met the round minimums.


Men’s Golf Recap

  • Active Teams: Cedarville, Findlay, Kentucky Wesleyan, Ohio Dominican, Walsh

  • Sapona Intercollegiate (Lexington, N.C.): Cedarville’s Aiden Hibbard captured the individual title in a commanding performance. Following his runner-up finish last week, Hibbard shot a 212 (-4) to win the event, leading the Yellow Jackets to a 4th-place team finish (+31). DJ Norman added a top-5 finish (T-5th, +1) for Cedarville.

  • Greenwood Men's Invitational (Greenwood, S.C.): No. 46 Findlay turned in a stellar team performance, posting a 54-hole score of 847 (-17) to finish tied for second place in a loaded field. The Oilers were led by Ross Dietz and Luke Metzger, who both fired impressive three-round totals of 209 (-7) to tie for 5th place individually. Zach Miller also earned a top-20 finish, placing tied for 17th at -2.

  • Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff (Wesley Chapel, Fla.): Kentucky Wesleyan and Walsh represented the G-MAC in Florida. KWC's Ryan Loiars placed 9th individually (+6), while teammate Benjamin Carter and Walsh's Blake Hood and Matt Stephan all tied for 10th (+7).

  • Pawley's Island Beach Bash (Pawleys Island, S.C.): Ohio Dominican competed in a weather-shortened event hosted by the Panthers. ODU sat in 4th place (+15) at the time of suspension, with Rune Van Den Bosch pacing the team at even-par through his finished holes.

Women’s Golf Recap

  • Active Teams: Findlay, Ohio Dominican, Tiffin, Ursuline, Walsh, Kentucky Wesleyan

  • Pawley's Island Beach Bash (Pawleys Island, S.C.): Tiffin captured the team title with a two-round score of +37. The Dragons were propelled by Laura Goetz, who won the individual medalist honors with a score of +6. Tiffin's Louise Hedstrom (T-3rd, +9) also notched a top-5 finish. Ohio Dominican secured a tie for 4th (+70) as a team, led by a runner-up individual finish from Maria Briceno Vargas (+8). Ursuline rounded out the G-MAC contingent in 11th.

  • Jerry Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate (Monroe, N.C.): No. 4 Findlay delivered a strong 3rd-place team finish (+16) against top-tier competition. Ashleigh Duflo led the Oilers, shooting even-par (216) over 54 holes to finish 5th. Hayley Dye contributed a tie for 15th at +4.

  • Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff (Wesley Chapel, Fla.): Walsh and Kentucky Wesleyan hit the links in Florida. Walsh’s Sydney Hugo posted a top-3 individual finish (T-3rd, +7), while teammate Ashlee Garner tied for 13th (+15). KWC was paced by AnnaMae Atcher, who tied for 21st (+21).
