FLORENCE,Ind. – The University of Findlay Men’s Golf team claimed their third Great Midwest title Wednesday afternoon. Findlay edged runner-up Ashland 3-2 in the medal match after recording the best score after 54 holes.
Findlay’s Colin Schadek, Luke Metzger, and Ross Dietz did their part in securing the Oiler’s championship by defeating their opponents. Dietz, slotted at the No. 3 spot, came off medalist status where he totaled a 54-hole score of 212 (-1), finishing as the only player under par. The Oilers recorded a three-round- total of 859 (+7), 18 strokes ahead of Ashland.
For Ashland, Mark Pillar and Shaun Mazzalupi put the Eagles on the board at the No. 4 and 5 slots.
The Oilers officially punched their ticket as the league’s automatic qualifier to the 2026 Division II regional.
The NCAA Men’s Golf Selection show is scheduled for Sunday, April 26.
