INDIANAPOLIS- After finishing the 2025-26 as one of the league’s top golfers, Findlay’s Luke Metzger was voted as the 2026 Great Midwest Golfer of the Year. Metzger, along with three of his teammates, were also first-team all-conference selections.
Metzger and company led the Oilers to their third program title since joining the conference in 2017. The Mason, Ohio native finished the season with an adjusted scoring average of 71.7 and a top-five finish at the conference championship. He captured two wins on the year and had eight top 10 finishes. The senior is joined on the first team by teammates Colin Schadek, Cahle Roth, and the 2026 Freshman of the Year Ross Dietz. During his freshman year, Dietz captured the individual medalist title at the G-MAC Championship. He finished the year with a scoring average of 73 and three top 5 finishes. At the helm of the Findlay golf program is Dom Guarnieri, who was voted by his peers as the G-MAC Coach of the Year. Guarnieri landed four individuals on the all-conference team and led the Oilers to a Midwest Regional appearance. Findlay was also credited with the Sportsmanship Award for displaying positive sportsmanship throughout the year.
Ashland’s Carter Mishler and Mark Pillar were both voted to the all-conference team after leading the Eagles to a second place finish at the conference championship. Mishler, a three-year captain for AU, averaged 73.7 this season and is ranked No.29 regionally. This will be Mishler’s third consecutive all-conference selection. Pillar is not far behind Mishler in the rankings at No. 30 in the region, with an average of 73.6.
Mitchell Brassard and Winston Brown are selections from Tiffin as the Dragons earned a regional bid. Brassard posted four top-10 finishes this season and is ranked fifth in the league standings. Brown is ranked 10
th in the conference and recorded his first collegiate victory at the Kyle Ryman Memorial with a score of -8.
Cedarville’s Aiden Hibbard and Hillsdale’s Robert Thompson round out the all-conference team. Hibbard earned an individual bid to the region after a regular season that included two medalist honors. Thompson and the Chargers qualified as a team for the regional. Thompsons 25-26 campaign included three medalist honors and seven top-10 finishes.
For the second conecutive year, Kentucky Wesleyan's Thomas Scott is the Elite 26 Award Winner. Scott is junior majoring in chemistry.
