As announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday (July 29) afternoon, Ashland University men's golfers Matthew McMullen and Carter Mishler have earned 2024-25 NCAA Division II Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar recognition.
 
McMullen graduated in May with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.73 as a Manufacturing major. During 2024-25, McMullen averaged a round of 73.6 with five eagles and 101 birdies, and won the UIndy Invitational in September among three top-10 individual placements.
 
Mishler, a junior this past year, sports a cumulative GPA of 3.83 as a Sport Management major through the spring 2025 semester. This past season, Misher's average score was 73.3, to go with seven eagles and 103 birdies. He also finished in the top 10 individually three times in 2024-25.

This is the third time McMullen has earned the honor, and the second time for Mishler.
 
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, and maintain a minimum cumulative career GPA of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
