CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Rich Ritter is the new head coach of the Cedarville University men's and women's golf teams.

He will be the first-ever Lady Jackets' golf head coach and will take over the men's program from Ryan Bowen, who is retiring at the end of the season following a 19-year tenure coaching the Yellow Jackets.

Ritter comes to the University following an accomplished coaching career at New Albany High School in New Albany, Ohio.

He has served as the Eagles' Director of Golf as the head coach of both the boys and girls programs since 2021.

Ritter was solely the school's girls golf head coach from 2017 through 2021.

"Coach Ritter brings a wealth of experience and success to our golf programs," said Vice President for Athletics Chris Cross. "He cares about the development of student-athletes on and off the course and seeks to continue a culture of spiritual discipleship and personal growth."

Ritter posted an impressing .899 winning percentage at New Albany featuring four consecutive Ohio Division I Girls State Championship titles from 2018-21.

His girls program has captured the last seven Ohio Capital Conference Championship trophies in a row and his last three boys teams have taken the league championship crown.

He is an eight-time Ohio Capital Conference Coach of the Year for both the girls (6) and boys (2).

Three of his girls have achieved state medalist honors while ten of his players have advanced to play collegiately at the NCAA level including six in Division I.

Ritter was a member of the men's golf team at Division III Ohio Wesleyan University from 1991-94 under legendary coach Dick Gordin. He is a 1994 graduate of OWU with a degree in economics management.

Rich and his wife, Stacy, have four children: a daughter, Anna, is a junior on the women's golf team at the University of Illinois and triplet boys, Alexander, Ethan, and Huston, are seniors on the boys golf team at New Albany High School.
