CLEVELAND- With more than half of its membership represented, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference had a strong showing in the Division II LEARFIELD Director’s Cup final 2023-24 standings.
The LEARFIELD Director’s Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in the NCAA Championships.
Findlay is the top-ranked G-MAC institution with a standing of No. 21. The Oilers collected 510.25 points and had ten programs advance to the NCAA championship competition during the winter and spring seasons. Leading the way was the women’s golf program that finished third at the national competition.
Tiffin and Ashland also cracked the top 100 with Tiffin at No. 30 and Ashland at No. 54. The Dragons accumulated 424.50 points in the sports of men’s and women’s track & field, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s and women’s tennis.
Ashland maintained a top 100 status with 344.00 points.
Next is Walsh ranked 102 with 196.50 points followed by Lake Erie at No. 111 with 180.50 points.
Hillsdale, Cedarville, Northwood, Trevecca Nazarene, Ursuline, Ohio Dominican, and Kentucky Wesleyan round out teams from the league in the final standings.
