Great Midwest Announces Men's Golf All-Conference Selections

INDIANAPOLIS- After an exceptional 2024 season, Tiffin’s Johan Widal was voted the Great Midwest Golfer of the Year to headline the conference’s postseason awards list. Findlay’s Colin Schadek was voted as the conference’s top freshman.
 
Widal, a sophomore from Halmsted, Sweden, shot rounds of 71-76-74 at the Great Midwest Championship. Johan concluded the regular season with two tournament wins and five top three finishes. He posted a scoring average of 71.3 is ranked No. 4 in the region and No. 45 nationally. Most recently, Widal and the Dragons earnd an at-large bid to the Midwest Regional, schedule for May 9-11.
 
Schadek, a native of Liberty Township, Ohio, burst onto the scene as the highest ranking Freshman in the league. He fired rounds of 70-77-72 at the conference championship to help the Oilers win their second G-MAC title. He is ranked 29th in the region with a scoring average of 72.9. This season, he has two top three finishes and six top 20 finishes.
 
Conference Champion Findlay, who will advance to the NCAA Regional, saw head coach Dom Guiarnieri earn the Coach of the Year award after the leading the Oilers to their second conference title.
 
Findlay’s Donnie Professori earned a spot on the all-conference team and was also awarded the Elite 26 award for academic excellence. Professori is a senior majoring in business administration.
 
Findlay and Tiffin as well as Malone's Gunnar McCollins, Northwood's Evan Johnson, and Walsh's Kyle Buzaki will make their way to Edmond, Oklahoma to compete in the Midwest Regional.
