(Crestview Hills, KY) - The Thomas More women's volleyball team welcomed their newest player to their team on Saturday (September 21) before their match against Walsh University.

Kyra is 11 years old and from Amelia, OH. She is from Team Impact and is the Saints top recruit. The women's volleyball team held a signing for Kyra before their match on Saturday as the team welcomed her with open arms.

Kyra was born with Joubert Syndrome which is a brain condition that affects a persons balance and coordination. Even though Kyra was born with this condition, she still loves to draw, play board games, dance, and support the Thomas More women's volleyball team.

Women's volleyball head coach, Holly Bronner Stiver, told the team, family and friends at the signing that Kyra definitely checked off all the boxes when it came to what she wanted in a player. "She's always cheering on the girls, she has Saint spirit through and through, she's competitive, and she's fun," said Coach Holly. "As soon as she steps out there and sees her smile it's just contagious."

Along with Coach Holly, Junior Emily Acito said that having Kyra here is exactly what the team needed. "It means a lot to us that we have another teammate and another supporter," Said Emily. "We are so excited to have [her] here on game days."

With the addition of Kyra, the women's volleyball team looks to improve from last season and they believe that Kyra was just the addition that they needed.
