Serving the next generation of runners is something that the Malone Cross Country team strives for. The team has hosted a cross country meet every year since 1968 and has been participated by over 200 schools across the state of Ohio and some out of state. The men’s and women’s team play a vital role in this event. Team members give out water cups at the finish line, read times at the mile markers, sell clothing, and even help with the award ceremony after the races conclude.
Along with the cross country meet, they also host a community 5k and fun run. This brings people from across Canton to run a 5k and gives the little children the opportunity to race their friends. The Malone Invitational has been involved in the community for generations and has helped with the developing and encouraging kids to run and stay healthy.
