INDIANAPOLIS — Findlay graduate Jill Schmitmeyer has been named a conference-level nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Each school in the nation had the opportunity to submit a nominee. The Senior Woman Administrators selected Schmitmeyer to represent the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
A women’s golf standout at Findlay, Schmitmeyer graduated Summa Cum Laude as a managerial accounting student. Most recently, the St. Mary’s, Ohio native earned her MBA and plans on becoming a Certified Public Accountant. Her academic honors also include the 2022-23 Collegiate Achievement Award recipient, awarded to one male and one female student athlete that has embodied the mission of the conference throughout his or her college career. Schmitmeyer is a four-time Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Academic All-American and has also been awarded Great Midwest Academic All-Conference honors for four consecutive years.
During her five years at Findlay, Schmitmeyer has also posted a prolific athletic career, earning Great Midwest Player of the Year during the 2021 season. She is a two-time All-American and three-time All-East Region honoree.
In addition to Schmitmeyer, Ashland’s Annie Roshak, Hillsdale’s Meg Scheske, and Kentucky Wesleyan’s Jenna Burns were also nominated by their respective institutions.
Rooted in Title IX, the NCAA Woman of the Year program has recognized graduating female student-athletes for excellence in academics, athletics, community service and leadership since its inception in 1991.
