Cedarville's Teresa Clark Honored as Faculty Mentor Winner

INDIANAPOLIS- Teresa Clark of Cedarville University has won the 2023 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Faculty Mentor of the Year Award for her impact on student-athlete development on CU’s campus. Each year, the conference’s student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) honors one faculty member who has made a difference at the annual honors banquet in Blue Ash, Ohio, which will be held Tuesday, May 23.
 
“It is such a special honor to be selected as the 2023 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Faculty Mentor Award recipient,” Clark said. “There are so many outstanding faculty members at our conference institutions that are deserving of this recognition. I thank the Lord for allowing me to serve the students especially the student-athletes at Cedarville University. I am humbled to be able to mentor the next generation.”
 
“There is not a more deserving faculty mentor award winner than Teresa Clark.  Professor Clark's commitment to student-athlete success is a hallmark of her service as the Cedarville University Faculty Athletic Representative,” Cedarville Director of Athletics Christopher Cross said. “Cedarville University is indebted to and grateful for the outstanding mentor that our student-athletes have in Teresa Clark.”
 
Clark’s has served as the Faculty Athletic Representative since the 2011-2012 academic year. At the conference level, she has served on the Strategic Planning Committee, Branding Committee, and has chaired for the FAR committee. Last year, Clark was one of six recipients of the G-MAC Distinguished Founders Award.
 
At Cedarville, Clark has served a variety of roles including Head Volleyball Coach (1996-2005), Title IX Coordinator (2014-2019), Professor, and FAR. In all these roles, Teresa Clark has excelled as a mentor and advocate for student-athletes, creating a welcoming environment to help prepare individuals for life after college.
 
The Great Midwest Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) annually votes one faculty member to be honored and recognized for his/her impact on the student-athlete body on their respective campus at the spring awards banquet. As the Great Midwest award winner at the conference level, the league winner will also be nominated at the national level for consideration for the NCAA Division II Dr. Dave Pariser Faculty Mentor of the Year honor.
