TIFFIN, Ohio- Tiffin captured their third Great Midwest Men’s Soccer Championship on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Lake Erie.
The Dragons opened the scoring with a Luke Alexander-Frost goal at the 28:23 minute mark. Tiffin would take that lead into the half. Both teams recorded three shots apiece in the first half.
Alexander-Frost connected on another goal to start the second half, assisted by teammate Chewe Mukuka. Mukuka then sealed the victory with a goal at the 73
rd minute off Malvin Gblah’s assist.
The Dragon defense limited the Storm to just six shots and no shots on goal. The Tiffin offense fired 12 shots and eight shots on goal, connecting on three.
Tiffin will now receive the automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Tournament. The rest of the field will be revealed on the NCAA’s Selection Show on Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET. Lake Erie was also part of the final regional rankings published last week.
