After a strong postseason run, Ohio Dominican's Robert Holden was voted the 2022 Great Midwest Men's Golf Player of the Year to headline the conference's postseason awards list. Hillsdale's Oscar Darlington was voted as the conference's top freshman.
Holden, a senior from England, averaged 71.8 over 32 rounds to be voted the top player in the conference. Holden was near the top of the leaderboard all throughout the 2021-22 year, registering seven top-5 finishes and 12 in the top 20. He finished the year tied for 11th at the national championship event after placing third at the NCAA Regional. Overall, he totaled 20 rounds of par or better and sports a 73.7 career average at ODU.
Darlington, a native of Findland, burst onto the scene as the number one player at Hillsdale. He qualified for the NCAA Retional as an individual and placed 21st of 108 players.
Conference champion Tiffin, which advanced to the NCAA Regional and placed ninth, saw head coach Jacob Miller earn the coach of the year award along with Nico Kyprian winning the Elite 25 Award for academic excellence. Teammate Michael Weppernig joined Kyprian as an all-conference honoree.
Findlay, which won stroke play at the conference championship, placed a league-high four players on the 17-player all-conference list. Hillsdale and Walsh each landed three all-conference honorees.
The 2022 Great Midwest Men's Golf Championship was held in Lexington, Kentucky, April 15-16 and the awards were voted on after the entire golf season was complete.
