LEXINGTON, Kentucky
- Four teams are within nine shots of the tournament lead as the Great Midwest Men's Golf Championship enters its final day on Saturday. After Friday's 36 holes, top tourney seed Findlay (+12) is in the lead.

Findlay, ranked 34th in the most recent GolfStat rankings, shot a 4-over 292 to open the tournament to take the lead early. It was Friday's best round. The Oilers then followed that with an 8-over 296 to maintain a 5-shot lead over Hillsdale (+17), which led the field for much of the afternoon.

Trevecca Nazarene (+18) is just one shot behind HC for the coveted second spot, followed by No. 2 seed Tiffin (+20) and Ohio Dominican (+21).

Tanner Grzegorczyk (-2) of Findlay led the player leaderboard for much of the day, firing a one-under 71 in each round to two-under. He was passed by at the top by Lake Erie's Tony Bodziony, who shot a blistering 5-under 67 to finish three shots under par for the day. Grzegorczyk and Bodziony were the only two players under par for the day. Three players (Jonah Manning of TNU, Donnie Professori of UF and Alex Heban of ODU) are tied for third at 2-over.

Findlay needs a solid final round to keep its standing and earn a berth into Saturday's medal match final round. The top two teams advance to a single round championship after 54 holes have been played. This format, which pits the top two teams against each other, makes playing for second place very important and three teams are all within three shots of the current runner-up Hillsdale.

Saturday's third round begins at 8 a.m. at the University Club at the University of Kentucky's Big Blue course.
